Creative Arts Camp
Austin Baptist Church Worship Ministry will be hosting our 2024 Creative Arts Camp on July 15 – July 19 for kids entering the 1st through 5th grades. Join us each day from 9:00am-12:00pm as we learn the musical “The Greatest Hymn on Earth” and grow closer to God while expanding our creative abilities through various different elective activities. Invite your friends, families, and neighbors to join with us on Friday evening, July 19, to watch as we share what we have learned! Registration is open now and will close on July 5th.

Electives
Arts & Crafts
From drawing to painting to sculpting to assembling supplies, the sky’s the limit to how we can use our imaginations to create pictures and likenesses of the world around us.
Creative Movement
Let’s learn to combine physical movement with creative expression! Games and activities will help kids to explore and experiment with different ways they can use the bodies God gave them to praise and honor Him.
Kids in the Kitchen
Calling all aspiring chefs! Join us in the kitchen to learn how to make some simple recipes and learn some tips and tricks for preparing delicious food. A book with the recipes will be given to each student at the end of the week.
Photography
Are you entering the 4th or 5th grade? Do you love to take pictures? Bring your digital camera (smart phone cameras will work!) and we will explore the “who, what, when, where, why” and most importantly “how” of capturing your memories.
Puppets
How do you use a puppet to tell a story? We will choose an appropriate size and appearance of puppet for the story being told, then learn how to move it around to attract and entertain the audience.
Rhythmic Games and Crazy Notes
Who says that learning music has to be serious and boring? We’re going to have loads of fun with drum sticks, buckets, tennis balls, scarves and bandanas, and maybe even a hula hoop or two! Singing a few Do-Re-Mi’s will keep everything on “pitch!” Music Bingo will be a sweet “finale” to each session.
Percussion
Learn to express yourself through rhythm. Using drums and all kinds of percussion instruments, we will keep the beat and explore a variety of ways to provide a pulse to the music.
Stomp
Made famous in 1997 by the movie “Stomp Out Loud”, the percussive art of Stomp has taken the music world by storm. This elective focuses on teaching the fundamentals of rhythm and playing collectively in an ensemble. Come have a blast as we seek to prove that anything can be an instrument!
Woodworking
Workshop time! We will use tools like hammer, nails, and sandpaper to construct projects from wood. Following instructions and safety precautions will be among the basic building blocks!
